I am ordering the kit tommorow. I am gonna do the Timing Chain, Hotcam, Have the heads ported polished and redone, I know I need intake gasket, Exhaust gasket, head gaskets and timing cover gasket. I am putting in a new radiator to . It is a new old style opti so I will stick with that.

Well if you're staying with that opti you've got about everything you need. Just be sure and get water pump gaskets and all the gaskets on the timing cover as well as just the timing cover to block gaskets. You'll need an opti drive gasket, a water pump drive gasket, and a crank gasket.

If you have the older style opti (non-vented) I think you have to tap in the cam pin half way in. I'm not exactly 100% sure on this. Anyone care to add?

Replace the head gaskets with ones from an Impala SS, GM# 12553160 it measures .029 thick as opposed to the stock thickness of .050 on the Vette motor. That should net you about 10.8:1 comp ratio, which is the same as the LT4 motor. FelPro also makes a nice LT series head gasket also under part# 1074 it measures about .039 compressed thickness, either of the above will net you a nice little Comp. increase & as an added benefit they also reduce your quench height. As to the cam pin FastVette94 refers to, the Spec sheet states that the cam pin comes configured for the late model Vented Opti's & must be tapped in until it measures .310 from the front of the camshaft surface. Here's a link to another nice little piece you ought to have! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1871875548

Nathan, I think I remember seeing where you switched over the new style opti on your 92. What exaclty was involved in doing that (a parts list would be nice :D )? I'm planning on putting a cam in my 92 this winter and I figure I might as well do the opti, water pump, and timing chain at the same time. Any info would be helpful.
