Halfshafts Are Angled Funny

I've had the rear suspension together and apart several times over the past year, and I just noticed that the halfshafts are angled rearward.

Is this normal or did I make a mistake somewhere along the line?

PS: Don't critique too harshly, please. This is my first build and I'm still learning how to weld.

Yes. They do angle rearward, normal. That is normal.

They look correct to me, too. As long as the trailing arm mounts are the same distance away (longitudinally) from the batwing mounts, the angles have to be correct. In this line drawing in plan view of an early C4 rear suspension, you can see that they also angle rearward a bit if you look closely:

I remember a Hot Rod magazine article about pinion angles from years ago which claimed no driveshaft should run string straight.

When I checked the FSM it really looked like they were parallel, so this is all comforting news.

Enough has gone wrong that I wouldn't be surprised if somehow it was magically off.
