If you put in a new and "wilder" cam into the l98, like the zz9, or lpe219 cam, do HAVE to increase the compression in the engine in order to get more hp? How does it work? Thanks..

they have demo software that will show you the effects of changing cams as well as compression. You don't have to increase compression, but sometimes it helps, depends on how much HP you're after.
You should pick a compression ratio that will allow you to run pump gas, thats the only thing you should worry about. Go as high as you can and still be able to run pump gas.
You dont HAVE to raise the compression, just keep it below, say 10.5:1. If you lowered compression though, you might lose something.
The 91s compression is what, 10:1? 10.5:1? Dont worry about it.
