Default 96 tach Problem

I am having a problem with the tach on my 96 lt1 auto trans it seems to read high. I have put scanner on it and it reads about 1000 high at idle and at speed it is reading high just not sure how much. I hope someone can help.

I think they have a writeup somewhere to fix it. That or just pull it and send it to batee.

If a tach calibration is 'correct' KEY ON/ENGINE OFF the needle should 'park @ 0. A tach that needs correction can be very random. KEY OFF it can park anywhere!

An earlier thread discussing correction but more recently Bryan has offered the service and DIY that might interest you.
