Here is what I have read so far from previous post. Number 8 bolts are a pain in the but to get to. Make sure that your motor mount bolts are facing the right way. I don't need to drill the egr tube out. The dent that is in the Y pipe is supposed to be there. I should run the felpro #1404 gaskets. I am using the bolt that came with the headers. Will I be able to tighten the # 8? They are six point bolts. And I should use assembly lube on the bolts? any thing missing here?
That is some very good planning and research BEFORE installing a mod.

I hate not knowing what I am getting into. But I did the heater core with no problems so I would imagin this will be a cake walk. I am using the y pipe that is for the 86 -up cat # 16720, The thing is a monster!!
Just make sure you turn that passenger side bolt around like you mentioned. Although Vic'89 and I looked at his car and I think his bolt was completely different than the one in my '87. My '87 has the nut now towards the front of the car on both sides of the engine and has plenty of clearance.
The rear bolt on #8 can be done from the top if you do it before attaching the EGR bolt. It isn't easy though. On my car I grabbed a 12-point ARP header bolt and ground down the walls of the closed end of a wrench so that it would fiit between the primary and the bolt.
I spoke to my mechanic on this topic last night: What He did on mine was, tighten them down real well, road test it....let it idle a bit. Allow it to cool, then, re-tighten. He didn't use any loctite. I've never had a leak or blown gaskets.
BE SURE to fire that thing with them open  Everyone has to do that at least once. I thought everything was going to fall off the walls when my car started that way
Those look awesome , I have wanted a set for my 35th and was interested in TPI's. Where did you get those fine pipes and are they for 88-96 ? If I can ask about the price how much did those fine pipes run you ?It looks like they have yet to be installed , give us an update how that goes.
Thanks and Good luck,
use copper or dead soft aluminum gaskets both at the head and at the collector and save yourself a lot of headaches of replacing the felpro gaskets. They will burn out and leak
i tried telling him to buy those double thick perceys aluminum gaskets and the summit aluminum collector ones :D anyway you definatly need to fire it with the headers open once, it sounds sweet !!
