It's the highest point in the cooling system, so you should only lose a little bit of coolant before the TB is empty.

It won't leak much. Just toss a towel under it, and be ready to point the hoses upwards quickly to minimize what flows out. A few ounces poured out when I pulled my TB to clean it.

I removed mine just today to clean and check IAS valve. I lost not a drop, even though I had placed rags all underneath suspected hose points where they might drip water when removed.

Obviously remove the hoses when the motor is cold.

Those of us that did the "Throttle Body Coolant Bypass" mod don't have to worry about any dripping mess.

Precisely, one shouldn't do the bypass mod if they encounter frequent 32 degree and lower weather in Winter.

Baloney. I've lived in sub 32* climates all my life and never had an issue w/o having a TB heater in place. Is icing possible? Yeah. Likely? No.

No way would I drive this car in the winter. I have been thinking of doing the bypass when I have the throttle body off as it's only a fun car.

It makes a huge diff!
Just kidding. Probably so small it's not measurable. But...it costs nothing and makes future maintenance a little easier.
