you could get some Large tube runners from AS&M to go with your cam and just port the plenum that way you still have the stock look with some extra breathing.

Cam, springs, and gaskets. Still need to pick up some assembly lube.

It's going to be a busy weekend.

springs from germany whod have guessed? Surprised to see that ASM has those runners for sale.
Those would be my choice esp when you see guys asking more than that for used parts.

ZZ4 cam is an excellent upgrade even with stock tune and long tube runners. I have gotten numerous cars to run 12s with bolt ons and that cam with stock untouched heads. I like running 1.5/1.6 rockers with it. If you do not run roller rockers, LT4 valve springs are a good idea while you have it apart/. 113 heads are the same as the ZZ4 heads. That cam for me with tpi and touching nothing else is usually worth one tenth and a mph with stock shift points. Idle will be a tad different. If you have someone burning a prom for you have it set up for ZZ4 cam.

Best out of the box runners you can buy. Fully ported Edlebrocks offer the most potential but can be tough to find.

Well that's a good review of the cam, thanks for that. I actually bought LT4 springs so I'm set.

Hadn't considered roller rockers, do they fit under the OEM valve covers? I ask because I just restored mine and don't want to replace them.

I will eventually look at getting a tune/prom burned for it. I will run it with the stock tune for a while, LT Headers are in the future too, so don't want to jump the gun.

I have the upper plenum and runners removed already and will continue with teardown/install Saturday morning...… hoping to be driving by lunchtime Sunday.

Thanks, Jared

I am running this cam I assembled my L98 last year I've still have original heads that have been ported and polished with large valves and seats installed. New roller lifters and crane roller rockers. My engine is .30 over bored. I have a mail box tuned chip.also the lower intake was ported to the heads and polished as well. Car is a 6spd and with the 411 gears she is a beast 👍

Good combo that doesnt cost a fortune. One think I like about the hotcam is it isnt trying to mimic a bigger cam at the expense of the valvetrain life.
The damage/noise is never worth a few lbs of torque. Who wants to do it twice, I dont. Hotcam esp after tuning has a very nice idle its not rumpity but sure feels like a bigger cam
Last one I fooled with (lt4) with ported heads/intake/shorty headers and tune with 2 200+ lb guys in it would haze the tires real easy, ran mid 12s spinning through 1st and 2nd.
That would lay waste to a ZR-1 big time for comparisons sake.

I don't get what you're trying to say....

I'm installing a ZZ4 Cam with LT4 springs.

I’m not 100% sure on your engine but on the earlier C4s you could make the stock covers fit if you remove the drip tabs with a Dremel and do a little bit of panel beating on the breathers.
here is what mine looked like. I had no trouble fitting Comp Cam 1.6:1 roller rockers under them after the mod.

Hotcam is a terrible cam for TPI. Too much duration for TPI

Remove the drip tabs for roller rockers as seen above
