I have the same problem on my 4L60E (same basic transmission). The book indicates it is a problem with the overrun clutch. This might be a good time (opportunity?) to install a Transgo kit. Transmissions are a black box to me, so it'll go to the shop (at 150K miles, it's probably due). I haven't got a price on it, yet.
Someone mentioned that these trannies are very sensitive to fluid level. My was OK, but it's a cheap easy check.
Chief, I just read your sig. I did a few years on diesel boats (USS Harder, SS568). What boat (I guess they're ships, now) are you assigned.
you need to get to the dealer and start working on them now. What's the warranty? 12 months 12,000 miles? You probably have at least 4000 miles on it already, right? Don't let time slip by asking us questions, get down there and demand a replacement. That tranny has not worked properly from day one in Bowling Green.
yup I agree Craig.....I have better warrantee than that....but still she is going in....my winter car is going on the road next week...soon as it is.....the vettes going in the shop....
yeh the warrantee was the only good part of the whole deal....50,000 miles or 3 yrs.
