Default Sun Visor repair / modifications

I had posted in a couple of threads about visors and was asked to post pics of the modifications to my visors. The problem I had was that the visors were just too stinking big. The masonite material they were made of was warped and floppy. So, I took some measurements and cut out some new masonite and then had them recovered with the same material as my seats. I drilled holes in the hardware and used pop rivets to put them back together. Advise – use a dremel to grind the original staples down to remove them.

First photo shows how much I cut off. The visor is laying on it’s old cover.

Second photo shows them installed and how they fit now.

Sorry the focus was not good on this one.

Now they do not hit the outside of the top and are just the right level when they are straight down. They also look good and are out of the way when the top is off. I got the material before they were covered and had my name and my wife’s name embroidered in the same color as my interior.

Cost: $50 to recover both, $10 to embroider both, and $3 for a piece of Masonite. Plus a couple of hours of time.

Very nice and creative.

Is the covering cloth or leather?
Who did the stiching?

Thanks.

Covering is cloth. Seat bolsters and head rest are the same color as the visors. Seat centers and center console are charcol grey.

Embroidery was done by a local shop that does sports, jackets, caps, company logos, etc. Their name is Stitch N Print. I just visited a few shops til I found one that had a good price and looked like they knew what they were doing. Back of the headrest is embroidered with "CORVETTE" in the Chevy logo font. Had it scanned in and digitized.
