1984 Headlight motor problem
I need to unlock the headlight to manually raise it up until I can replace the motor.There is no **** to turn counter clockwise on the motor to unlock it to manually raise the light.What do I need to do to manually raise the light?

The manual control **** on the '84-'87 headlight motors is on the bottom of the motor. For the '88-'96, the **** is on the top of the motor.
How have you determined that you need to replace the motor? I'll bet the motor is fixable, probably at NO COST!

Thank you for your response.I am thinking it is the motor because I hear no indication of the motor trying to turn the light over.I am going to work on it tomorrow(Tuesday) and will find out then what the problem is.I have driven the car very little at night since I bought it in 1997 but I now have to drive in the evening 2 nights per week.I am thinking about putting a newer headlight on for a little better vision at night.Any suggestions on some of the newer headlights?(Maybe LED's?)

I will wager that your problem is the limit switches, that are located near the commutator on the motor armature. Those switch contacts need to be clean. While you have the motor apart, be sure to lubricate the armature bearings with a light weight white grease, like LubriPlate or CRC StaLube. The motor armature needs to shift on its axis when the headlight door hits its stops, and the worm gear forces the armature to move against the springs, which are located near the limit switches.
