I put my T56 up for sale locally last night just to test the waters, I have a sale pending on it for over my asking price but I'm still not sure If I will go through with it as its going to be a fair bit more expensive to do the magnum even without a rear gear change....plus all the unknowns of being a pioneer in the magnum swap.

That does sound like an awesome deal for someone. I'm planning to run an LS so IF I decide to sell my current T56 I think I would go with a magnum but thanks for the offer.

Well guys, I decided to go through with the sale so theT56 is Sold. I got it for a great deal and sold it for a fair bit more than I paid and took only 2 days to sell it, so I'm happy
Looks like a Magnum will be in my future

Just placed an order for my T56 magnum today
60 day wait for the one with the gear ratios I want but I'm willing to wait.

Always fun when making big changes!
What are you replacing? A 4+3?
Ooops....I just looked. A basic T56. That should definitely be a good upgrade...especially in shift quality, IMO.

I have a sbc and 4+3 in the vette right now, driving it until summer's over.
Then this fall/winter I'm doing an LS2 and 6 speed swap.
I have a low miles LS2 sitting in my workshop right now:
I had bought a regular T56 with all the stuff pictured and it sat in my workshop for a few months...
I decided to change course a sold the T56 (for a substantial profit)a few weeks back and just ordered a T56 magnum today.
I'll be doing a build thread later this year or early next year once I get going on the swap. I'm just collecting parts right now, to avoid delays once things get going.
I haven't seen a T56 magnum swapped into a C4 before so I guess I will be pioneering it, I'm a bit worried about the shifter location...but its hard to know until I physically try putting stuff together.

I do really like the super ram. I especially like the look of it under my hood with the custom lid and powder coating/polishing. This was a nice setup for 1980's technology. But I'm sure the 6.0L LS2 will bring a smile to my face when I open the hood also
So far as I can tell they still bring pretty good money... I haven't decided if I should sell it or keep it (in storage).

True. If you like 'em, that's all that matters. I thought they were dumber than dumb on my C6. A cop-out of engine aesthetic design.

My T56-MAGNUM finally arrived today so I picked it up and brought it home...
It took quite a while to get the T56-Magnum as they were back ordered for over 2 months (Glad I was not in a hurry!). Anyway now that I have it in my possesion I talked to the shop that will be doing my LS/T56 convenversion and it looks like they will be able to start on the car first or second week of November. (We didn't want to set a time until I got the trans).
I would have liked to do this project myself but I just don't have the time right now so I have decided to hire it out as I still want to do the swap. Some good friends of my own a shop and will be doing the work, but I am allowed to help as much as I want too.
Can't wait to see this project get going, the parts are stacking up and i'm running out of room in my workshop!
