OK I am sue this has been covered before but pointing m in the right direction would be helpful
Like many I have had a problem with my vats system, initially I thought it was the key so ordered new one, BUT I made no difference so I purchased then I purchased the bypass dongle figuring this would fix it, but still no joy, does anyone know what it could be.
when I turn the ignition key all lights come on but when I try to start the vats system light comes on and I cannot start the car.
Ok let';s start with the basics. Did you check the resistor on the old key and make sure the new key is the same? And is the dongle the correct resistance? Also check to see if you have Code 46 in the ECM. If so, you have to check the Starter enable relay. Meaning you really need a FSM.
Yes checked the code and sure I have correct one, I haven't read to see if I have a code 46, I'll check that later today and let you know thanks for the help.
