Hey guys i own a 1990 vette i cleaned up the engine etc and ran it for a few hours to try and pin point this leak. Sadly im thinking its a head gasket can you confirm for me please with the attached pics ??? Its right below these two bolts 😭
The Valve Covers and China Wall are my first suspect when looking for an oil leak on an L98. Never had one that sealed well for any length of time whether I did it or professionals at the speed shop or a dealership. Spray it all off with brake cleaner, dye the engine and see what gives.

Looking at the dry head area above the leak, I suspect head gasket and not valve cover. If valve cover you would find oil seepage from bottom of valve cover to head gasket area you are showing.
..... FYI … There is NO pressurized oil passing through the cylinder head gasket … only coolant (minimal) and compression/cylinder pressure are exerting any force upon the head gasket aside from those ARP bolts …..

Exactly! There is no oil going through the head gasket. My bet is those "made in China" valve covers.
It is definitely not the valve covers thats what I suspected at first the picture shows the best angle i could get its worse near the back of the engine. So what am I looking at just a leaky gasket ?bots definitely not valve covers I have no milky oil and the car does not over heat ? I couldnt see any oil in the coolant is it possible just the gasket is toast or am I looking at even more money warped heads etc... Was going to pull the spark plugs when I get home tonight
