Default L98 lift plate?

Hey all, starting to, thinking about, wanting to....oh, it's time to start engine removal for a rebuild. Been putting it off too long since I can get 100 miles at the cost of a spark plug.

Anyway, I know the old advice is get a Happy Hooker to lift the engine. I've been looking at latest Summit stuff, would one of their plates work fine?

Thinking SUM-G1015-1 or the Mr. Gasket 33027G.

I have not tried those plates, however I do have the TPIS Happy Hooker plate. I no longer need it, so if you are interested let me know. I can do $50 shipped for it? I dont think i have the bolts for it anymore though..

You sure can. Use a piece of (appropriately rated) chain. Put one end under a rear exhaust manifold bolt and put the other end under the opposite, front manifold bolt. Position the lifting hook on the chain appropriately for decent balance.

Only way I've ever done it. Cheap, fast, easy.

Wouldn't an engine leveler be easier and cheaper?

No, than the Happy Hooker. But, yea, just a piece of chain is hard to beat.
