Default Radio won’t work!

I have a 1987 corvette that had the Bose sound system and the owner before me took it all out and had a aftermarket system and I changed the head unit and it worked like a charm for a month or so one day I plugged my charger into the cigarette lighter and My radio wet out I’ve checked all the fuses even the ones inside the dash and no luck any idea what it might be?

You positive all the fuses are good? The cigarette lighter would generally have either popped a fuse or melted the wires if it shorted out (mine melted). If you are sure all the fuses are good I pull the radio bezel check the harness for the cigarette lighter and radio. The cigarette harness can be accessed by pulling out the AC panel. While you have the radio out check the harness with a volt meter to see if you get power from the constant source as well as power from the switchable source (when car is on). If you have power to both of those it's also possible the radio got fried when the cigarette lighter went. I don't think they share anything but a ground though.

Steps I would take in this order:
- Recheck fuses. Don't rely on just visual. Test with a meter. (continuity tester on multi-meter is easiest way)
- Did you check the fuse on the radio? Most have them either on the back or inline with the power source.
- If above checks out, pull radio. Test the ground first to make sure it's still making a good ground (continuity tester on multi-meter is easiest way)
- If ground checks out. Test the constant and switchable power lines for the radio
- If all the above checks out but the radio still doesn't turn on, chances are very high the radio is dead.

You're going to want to figure out what happened to the cigarette ligher as well. Often times the wire on the center post comes off and shorts things out. If that is the case you want to fix it before it can do more damage.

The lighter is on the CTSY/CLK circuit. Double check that fuse. Those cigar lighters are very cheaply made and fall apart on the inside which could have shorted your CTSY/CLK fuse.
