I have heard that its not that bad, just takes several hours to complete. I took mine to a ship and paid like $700 for the labor and rebuilt rack. I wish i did it myself, but just did not have the tools at the time. Now im set :D

I just did mine about a month ago. It takes some patients. You need to remove the bolts from the steering shaft to get it out. I used a crow's foot (18mm) to get the lines off. The biggest deal was getting the rack out, and the new one in after it was disconnected. Just be patient and don't force things, you don't want to break the fan shroud. BTW mine is an '84. My '87 showed signs of morning sickness 2 years ago. I had it replaced at a reputable tire/alignment shop. The complete cost including a 4 wheel alignment was $430.00. Well worth the money. I recommend to shop around and get some quotes from different shops in your area.
