Default Torque Converter lock/unlock speed recommendations..

I have a 93 with a 396LT1, 2800 rpm Vigilante converter, PRO BUILT 700R/4L60 and 3.73 gears D44.
What speeds would you recommend the ECM to lock and unlock in low and high gears.
I knwo there is another table dealing with percentages etc of throttle, but in the ECM table, I can choose speeds in Tuner Cat.
I am getting a little shudder at 46 to 48 mph in 4th at very light throttle, cru

ising basically.

Personally, I would have the computer lock the converter only in 4th gear when on the freeway, around 55mph. I used to do that when my car was on the street. It acts like a 5th gear. Good choice on the converter by the way.

I was thinking of just driving in D, vice OD while around town. I have a B&M stacked cooler and BeCool radiator which has a cooler integrated inside. SO, Cooling isnt an issue.

Unless you eliminate the lockup in lower gears, the thing will still lock up around town in 2nd and 3rd. Just command lockup only in 4th after whatever mph you choose. The fuel economy gain by locking up in 2nd or 3rd is negligible.

Fuel economy is negligible anyways. I just filled up today, and my city fuel MPG is 10.8... Yikes.
How can I eliminate it
Also, my shudder issue is only in 4th during lock up and unlock range. I think in 2nd and 3rd there is never a float period, as gas is on regardless to maintain speeds.

Did you take the checkball out of the input shaft?

I remember that item years ago. I cant be 100% certain, but I know it was brought up by Pete and the builder. I am pretty sure it was taken out..

Shutter/chuggle could be engine not transmission 396 with 3.73 it seems engine should not labor to set up shutter at 46 mph. 10 mpg could be a misfire causing both shutter and poor economy.

I have changed ignition modules, as I have a DELTEK ignition. WIres and plugs are new. It has no chugging, surging issues at all in any other gear on light throttle, cruising. No rattles.
And when I hook up TTS Datamaster, no issues show up as far as knock etc.. Cams not real big, but has some duration, 244 on exhaust 232 intake.
Idles fine, even in gear with AC. And cruising with AC, it makes no difference.
But, if I am cruising in 4th at the speed this happens, then left foot touch brakes, it stops doing it..
