I want a simple BOLT IN upgrade to the stock 81,000 mile fuel system.
Walbro seems to be highly recommended brand, but which one? I see racetronix offers a GSS307 and GSS340. Seem similar except the 340 is capable of high pressures. Is there any negative by running the 340 even if it is below the high pressure rating? (For instance in case nitrous is added to the combination)
They are identical pumps until the pressure goes over 50psi. Then the 340 continues to flow well, whereas the 307 poops. Unless you plan to run massive pressures or a power adder such as dry nitrous or a blower, then the 307 is a suitable pump (even for wet kit nitrous).
Would I need to upgrade my fuel pump in my 87? I'm going to be adding a Nitrous Plate (It's a wet kit I guess, because it introduces fuel & nitrous) I have a 2 year old stock fuel pump in it now. On a recent dyno, my A/F Ratio was basically 12.8 throughout the entire rpm range.
