Changing to a cam with less overlap and a good tune would be the quickest/cheapest way to iron out your problem. If you wanted more heads arent hard to do.

I built a 421 stroker a couple of years ago, and was power hungry. Here's the rough engine specs.
Dart Shp Block
4340 3.875 stroker crank
6.0" Oliver billet rods
Srp forged pistons
Comp Cams 236/245 @.050 duration, 5.70intake .574 exhaust 113 LSA
Dart pro1 230cc cylinder heads
Air Gap RPM intake
Comp Cams magnum 1.5 Roller Rockers
Howards +.030 Bar lifters for the Dart Block
MSD Distributor
FiTech 600 power adder Throttle body EFI self tuning

Here's the question. I sold my C5 last week, and am considering trying to tame the C4 into more of a daily driver type car (it has air conditioning). Should I get some AFR 210cc heads and a 225/235 ish cam as a good streetable setup? I'm going nuts trying to decide on cylinder heads and cam because everyone I ask about it is leaning in hard on it making 600 plus HP (let it rev / breathe...big heads and cam)..I really want it to drive nice. Or is that too much to ask.

I'm also considering an LS Swap, but am not sure if I could figure out what to do with all the wiring....and what to do with the 421 that works terrific except a little rough for a street engine. Plan B could be to just get a C5 Z06.

Any and all suggestions/opinions are welcome.
I have a 421 stroker stage 3 in my c6 drives perfect, I guess the question is how streetable are you talking about I love big cams and heads the more the better.. You could tame it down with maybe a stage 2 setup..Most people dont realize how much power they are missing out on by just adding a really good torque converter it puts the power down. Thats another way to tame a motor by going to a lower stall speed on your torque converter. I'm not sure what the c4 or c5 comes with but most c6 automatics range in the 2200-2400 range which softens everything if you switch to a milder cam, A heavy cam will chug you into the next world or into the stoplight I made this mistake once. You need a bigger stall with bigger cam. I ordered my motor through hot rod co. a built 421 ported heads and all the extra fixing's money could buy..the fi tech is awsome didnt use it on the corvette using it in my boat with the semi built c6 motor i took out with 48k on it..I guess what it comes down to is it sounds like you want a prius lol joking.. seems like you need a stock ZR1 or z06 maybe a Z51 I had one once great handling car.
