Default Wiring issue

Hello all.

I'm installing a new radiator in the 86, so now I figured was a perfect time to sort out the hack wiring job someone did that makes the main fan run as soon as the key is turned on.

Well it seems that they spliced into a pink/black wire that is in the big loom by the wheel well.
From the FSM this wire should be going to the purge solenoid....
The splice runs to the fan, and also to the AC clutch...the both run all the time.

One thing that confuses me is I followed the pink/black wire down to the canister. It did not plug I to the solenoid like expected. There was a connector, two wires on one side and two on the other. The pink/black wire was cut and so was another wire on the other side of the connector. The two wires were spliced together...

The other wires still attached to the connector ran to the Underwood lights... I'm not sure what is going on with all that mess...

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

I would look for local unmolested car to look at take pictures to aid on sorting it out. Corvette or sports car clubs, cars shows even used car lots for cars tp look at.

Ryan, you need a FSM (Factory Shop/Service Manual). You'll be surprised how handy those books (2) will become for you!
