Would anyone know if mufflers from a 1992 Vette would be essentially the same as the ones for a 1995? I just bought a 1995 Vette with aftermarket mufflers that are too loud. I would like to move back to stock, and have a chance to buy a pair of stock ones off a 1992 model for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance for any help on this!

Check out the prices at Allen's Stainless Exhaust in Indiana. I have two of their systems and one is a Cat-back for my C4. On my C4 I replaced the catalytic converter with an aftermarket Hi-flowing unit and then installed the new cat back exhaust and my car has been very happy. After replacing the catalytic converter and the cat back exhaust the Corvette gained almost 14 hp. With the new system on the Corvette I was able to break into the 30 mpg range for the first time with my 1988 C4. It is not loud and it has NO DRONE which is a serious problem with some C4's. It is supposed to be worse if you try to remove the catalytic converter....
Allen's SS Exhaust has different "levels of noise" and offers parts in aluminized Steel or SS. My systems are still working, the one on my 1968 C3 with its 427 is still on the car working great after 25 years of use and over 20+ years on my C4 as well. Allen's prices are pretty good for quality new parts. What they make lasts a long time and went on very easily in my driveway. I would strongly recommend Allen's SS Exhaust to any Corvette owner, they make systems for all the years and even offer new side-pipe kits for those who really like to make their presence known.
The best part is that you don't have those big ugly mufflers on the back of your Corvette. I got rid of 4 mufflers by using the chambered pipes and the sound is music to my ears. The Corvettes look cleaner without the mufflers hanging out in back.
1992-1996 LT1 mufflers are exactly the same, including the square tips
I had the same experience as you, one of the previous owners cut off the mufflers and installed eliminators. Outside the car it sounded awesome, but inside the car was pretty awful. Fortunately I found a local muffler shop with 2 new OEM mufflers, installed out the door for $300. Plenty of power, runs great, and that low rumble sound that I love.
