Can anyone recommend a fix for a drooping headlamp door on my '92 Coupe? I've played around with the rubber stop located at the top (underside) of the headlamp and tightened down the black **** on top of the motor, but the unit still seems to have some play in it when I press down on it from above with my hand.
This problem is particularly noticeable when I encounter bumpy roads, but the headlamp door immediately aligns itself in the correct position when I flip the lamps up, then close them again. What gives? Anyone else ever encounter this problem?
Exactly right... Drooping headlight = worn gears, or else that goop that they seal them with! Mine had the droop going really bad, and I got those nylon bushings from Corvette Country here in Fayetteville. Armed with those and a few hours to kill, my headlights were good as new!
Can someone e-mail me instructions on how to replace worn headlamp gears and bushings? I can get the improved bronze ones easily enough from MAD at a decent price. Thanks!
