Default Checking the Climate Codes on an 89?

Hello,

I have read several posts in which posters describe checking the climate control codes. They do not post how they did this nor can I find it in a search. Can anyone describe the process?

Thanks for any help.

I found the process in another search. Mods please close the thread.

Yes it worked.

SunCr posted this in the forum in 2003

The codes are few. Press ext temp button and at the same time press and release the auto button. A mode number will appear in the temp display. Advance it by pressing the warm button until the #8 appears. Read the codes by pressing the cold button. 00 is no faults; 01 is an open in the temp door motor; 02 outside temp sensor is open; 04 outside temp sensor is shorted; 08 inside temp sensor is open & 16, inside temp sensor is shorted. That's all you get.

It worked for me I had 00 no faults

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. The procedure I read was different.
