soft top deck removal
Looking to get my convertible rear deck repainted after wear marks from top being up. Plan to remove the deck itself and take to paint shop. Is that a simple process, removing hinges etc,disconnecting the switch or am I asking for trouble? Looks straightforward but I'm sure others have done this. Wanting to avoid the mess when any paintwork/sanding is done especially with interior somewhat exposed Thanks

Just be sure to find a volunteer or two to help put it back on the car without hurting the new paint.
I am doing similar work to my C3 and you are right, I never expected it to be as simple as it turned out to be. Just a bit unwieldy to handle by yourself. After 28 years of ownership my poor C3 needs a new convertible top desperately.
