What problems, if any could be caused by running a car for several thousand miles with a header leak.... Other then the fuel ratio being off as in rich or lean.
A small header leak is not going to throw off your A/F ratio. Other than being really annoying, no harm that I can think of, unless the leak is aimed at a plug boot or something.
Try installing Stage 8 stainless steel locking header bolts. Little bit of a pain to put on, but once installed, you NEVER have to tighten them again, and you'll never blow a gasket out. They're only about $40.
The Stage 8's are great, they are what I use and so far no leaks. Also, I use gaskets from SLP, they seem to be the best for LT1 and LT4 applications. :seeya
