I am replacing my shocks over winter and i need to know the shock ride height... since my vette is lowered front and rear i guess i need shorter shocks?? so the shock doesnt bottom out.. I used the longer bolts in the rear... For the front i didnt even use the wedges... I cutt off all the rubber and also the rubber on the ends... car sits low... And i have no idea how to measure shock ride height as well as a part number for the Hal QA1 12pt adjustable... Guy from summit knew the part number for non lowered vettes but not for lowered vettes... Need your help guys thanks...
You're going to have to measure it yourself. It is different depending on how low you lowered your car. I have some measurements that I have taken from some lowered C4's, but they are only for REFERENCE.
If you lowered your car as noted, you do not need special lengh shocks.
Why are you going to the twin tube HAL shocks? Just get yours re-valved by Bilstein or get Koni SA's.
How do I exactly measrue the shock ride height?.. I mean do i just measure the shcok from top to bottom?? :)
With the car on the ground, measure the length of the shock from the center of the bolt(rear) or T-bar(front) to the upper mount point below the first round bushing. This will be shock ride height.
