Security Light flashing
Greetings. I have a C4 ver security light flashing. Car will not start. Got a new key and tried to program it no luck light still flashing and no start. Anyone out there had this issue?

If you could provide a little more detailed information on what you mean by not start it can help eliminate some of the guess work. Also the year due to the number of changes they made over the years. Do the dash lights come on does the motor crank but not start? Just for instance I went to fire my car up and just barely heard a click and no crank always cranked hard never showed any problem of battery going bad dash lights and security lights were on.So I put the voltmeter on 13v put the charger on and tried later that day and got the same response when I turned the key just a little click so I pulled the battery and surprisingly it was original and tested bad. Replaced it and worked out fine. Never had a battery give out like that before but was thinking the worst and relieved to have a easy fix

87 vats bypass switch
My 87 c4 had security light illuminated
good key chip
no crank, zero balance
everything else looked perfect
to cut all the fat off the bone
installed vats bypass switch
identified proper frequency
done
3 years later- hasn’t burped once- for that anyway 😂
