Which one and where should I buy it from? I want to remove my throttle body and clean it over the winter and assume I'll want all 3 new gaskets to put it back together. I see "kits" for sale at several different sites for a wide variety of prices and no description of the contents of the kit to confirm it contains all 3 gaskets. Car is a 96 LT4, but I believe should be the same as an LT1 or even L98 right?
I've used the Standard Motor Products 2045 kit. It contains all FOUR gaskets. I'm not sure the pre 94 kits will work on 94-96. The IACV gasket is different. Up till 93 the IACV threaded in, and used a flat circular gasket. From 94 on the IACV uses an O-ring. If you could find the o-ring all the other gaskets would work.
There is also a sponge like gasket for the TPS but I've always been able to reuse that one.
Also be careful not to remove the DAG coating on the throttle plates as it seals the body at idle.

Thank you, this is all good information. So spray cleaner, shop towels, and don't scrub too hard.
Should I attempt to clean the IACV in any way? I've read in past threads to carefully clean the 'pindle' I think it's called with a toothbrush and a quick spray of cleaner. Is this a bad idea?
Look into maybe a SMP 2029 kit for your '96. GM# 17113178 would have been a basic gasket set for a '96 with only 2 gaskets. Does the SMP 2029 have all needed? No idea but it's a suitable replacement listed for the GM kit for 2 + other parts. Looks like the 2029 would be missing the flange gasket. Flange gasket for the T/B is the same

Does the red thing in this kit look like the correct piece? Or is it more of just a thin rubber o-ring? It's looking like I'm going to have to order two different kits to get everything I'll need as this one doesn't picture a tb to plenum gasket.
Throttle body repair kit AC Delco 40744
Felpro 60655 Throttle body gasket
A new IAC valve
would I be missing anything? Can anybody tell me if it's worth $80 for the delco valve vs. an off brand? My intention would be to replace the part rather than just order the cheapest possible to get the o ring.
