If you Google sbc oil catch can there's no shortage, since many racing formats required them. Searching for one for corvette may lead to "corvette tax" depending on vender.

why the need for a catch can do you have an oil burner on your hands?
Most the C5-6 crowd doesnt need them, they just follow the herd.

i just put my built 383 stroker in my car and before I supercharge it I want to put a catch can on.. just going off advice from builders etc. only 100 miles on the engine so far so I hope I’m not burning oil yet 😂 just don’t want any oil getting in my manifold if I can prevent it

The early LS had / has some oil control issues.
i would go with your builder's suggestion if nothing but a CYA. just in case thing. The C4 engine compartment is kinda full unless something falls off. You also have to remember check/drain it periodically

there was no real suggestion other other then I should get one lol so I figured I’d check here first lol yeah I figured as much but change my oil every 2k so I figured I’d check it half way point and change every oil change. I know someone has to have installed a good proper set up in our cars.. I’ve read stuff about making one at Home Depot 😂 but I want a legit set up

Your call. How much boost are you going to run?
Id run it without..if your machinist did his job I doubt youd need one. As said the lsx platform is a little different.
Some get upset cause the inside of thier intake gets a little oily its not a big deal at all. Mines been an oil burner since day 1 simply no need for a can. Do whats best for you I suppose

Chad Golen built the engine and although I can’t testify yet of his reliability or machine work he has a good reputation as a builder etc so 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I’ll be running about 14 psi.

I wouldn't bother unless you have oil control issues or forced induction, that's mostly who will see the benefit of a catch can. Factory setups can run hundreds of thousands of miles without them.

Elite Engineering makes a nice one and its compact enough to mount out of the way. I only used them on my LS6 cars though. I do plan to get one for my LT-5 in the near future though.

The Mishimoto one is nice but kind of bigger. I like it except for the size but I don't know much about the OP and his available space. I prefer to have a larger one for the ability to run it to the oil change which is varied because of the oil change intervals. If you choose to change oil every 2000,you can use a smaller one but if you change every 6000 to 8000, depending on the lab testing, you have to remember to empty the can more often.

If I had crankcase pressure Id prefer to blow the oil into a can than back into the intake. That can foul spark plugs and cheese up the intake valves.

Moroso lists several: https://www.moroso.com/catalogsearch...ch+can+oil+air
The 2 C4 units listed are shown as out of stock currently, the main difference I see with many of them is purely the mount, so with some engineering you might be able to make your own. Just a thought.
