Hey Folks!
I'm new here so go easy on me.
My 93 LT1 starts up just fine. After warming up, SES light begins flashing and car seems to drop to maybe 4 cyls., stumbling badly before shutting down. This happens at idle and on the highway. Usually I can sit for a few minutes and the car will start up and we go down the road a short distance till it happens again.
Codes H41 and H54 are displayed crossing pins A and G method. Using pins A and B, no codes shown.
I can clear the codes manually or by disconnecting the battery and all is well till the next trip.
I have re-seated the prom and cleaned all grounds, installed new knock sensors and MAP sensor, but the problem persists.
I'm leaning toward a rebuilt ECM as I am aware of the poor history of 92-93 ECM's.
I'm don't have an expensive scanner and don't want to continue to throw parts at it.
Has anyone else experienced something like this and how did you remedy the problem?
When my 92 ECM would act up it caused all kinds of random errors and issues. I would get codes and my A/C would stop working. I sent it to SIA Electronics for a rebuild and haven't had those problems since then.
Thanks folks.
Like I said, I am inclined to think the ECM is the problem. As the car starts right up when cold, and runs great without miss or hesitation until the stall, the Opti is not my first choice. The car only has 41K and is not exposed to inclement weather. The area around the Opti is completely dry, so no water pump issues are related. I have been on Sia Electronics website and will most likely get my ECM off to them soon. I know not to send them the PROM chip.
For those who have used Sia, I would be interested to know of your turnaround time and experience with them.
Thanks.

my optispark was a pile of rust insidr at 26000 miles back in 2001. Shrunk/cracked seals allowing water intrusion probably from me washing the engine. Which I only washed maybe 1x

My car was tossing all sorts of codes, some of which didn't exist, as well as cutting out randomly. I pulled and sent out the ECM (to SIA, I think... I don't see the paperwork) and that solved a multitude of issues.
Got the ECM back from SIA yesterday.
They did their magic and got it out shipped back to me in 3 days.
Put it on this morning and the car runs like new.
They have my full endorsement!
