My LT4 has around 68k miles on it. I have never replaced oxygen sensor(s) and have read that it is probably a good idea to do so at this mileage. The car runs very well, but gas mileage is off a bit and the car seems to "hunt" at idle a bit. I have replaced wires, plugs, and Opti.
So, my questions are: How many sensor(s) are there on an LT4? I have seen one, I think, on the right side below the exhaust maniford and before the pre-cat. Secondly, what is the best way to get the old one(s) out and the new one(s) in? I looks just about impossible to get to the one I have found, but I know there is a way to do it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Oxygen Sensor - A Couple Questions (jkingsbury)
There are 4 heated O2 sensors, two pre and two post cat...
You only need to change to two front ones as those are the ones that directly affect drivability... The rear O2s are for monitoring cat performance to make sure they're doing their job...
Good luck changing them as you have to be a contortionist to get a wrench in there and turn...
I did mine at around 40K miles and it seemed to help...
Re: Oxygen Sensor - A Couple Questions (jkingsbury)
There is a special tool you can buy made just for removal of the O2's. It is offset so you can get a ratchet on it..or a short 7/8" (Sears) will do the job.
Good Luck
