Found this while looking for possible loose broken ground (G-401) for blacked out gauge backlight INOP. (as suggested by forums)
the "L" peice has wire or hard small tube into a rubber L with something broken/ melted on other side unable to tell if metal or plastic.
I cannot find anywhere in the area it would have connected to...
and have not yet found this ground G401 location either
this is on driver side behind valve cover, to left of distributor cap and right of master cylendar.
(I found the port with a torn vacuum plug and replaced it with the yellow plug.)
1986 4+3 trans. What is this "L" rubber for where does other end go with broken end? (not red wire)

g401 is in the back of the car near the tail lights. I added a photo, click on the thumb nail. But I think you really want G104 which is behind the instrument panel, top RH center of steering column.
As for the vacuum tube. Look on the top rear passenger side of the intake plenum, there will be two vacuum ports. There are also two ports on the front lower driver side of the plenum.

I will check those out.
I already found 1 unplugged vacume line at front. I will look harder for the ones on the rear. I dont think it would have went where I put the yellow cap cause it already had a black stock one that tore off.
