Default squealing sound 94
94 LT1, took it for a short drive and had a stealing sound from the motor when I got back.
I pulled the valve covers to see what I could see.
When I started it I noticed that the rockers on both sides were not oiling for about 45-60 seconds after .
Seems like it was getting good oil in the #5 and 6 cylinders from the start.
I feel like the sound might be coming from the cam
Spun cam bearing??
I have no experience with that
Anyone have a clue , does it sound like I spun a bearing??
I appreciate any help : )

Might be something simple, and cheap, like an idler pulley? or belt tensioner? They can squeal pretty good when going bad. Remove the belt, start the motor and see if it sounds different. That would rule out the alternator, power steering pump, idler pulley and belt tensioner in less than 10 minutes.

thanks for the response ,
I forgot to mention that the belt is off as well as the water pump
and the oil level is full

Any video of the sound? My lt4 also squeaks, at all times when running.

Manual or auto?
Could be pilot bearing or throwout bearing if manual.

Its an auto, The noise really seems to be coming from the cam area
