Squeaky top

1) Make sure all fasteners on the body and the top are properly tightened.
2) Be sure to armor-all the weatherstripping that the top comes in contact with.
3) If that doesn't fix it (it didn't for me), I found that it was the plastic trim just behind your head (between the top and the back glass) that was squeeking and popping every time I hit a pothole. Here's how I fixed it. I went to an A/C supply shop, and bought a roll of foam insulating tape. It's about 1/8" thick, 2 inches wide, and has a sticky side. I removed various pieces of interior trim, and put this foam tape in between the trim piece and the body. I'm not sure which piece of trim was the culprit, but after I was done, no more squeeks or pops. I suspect it was the piece described above.

First I removed the trim from the windshield header.
Next, I loosed the mounts on the top itself, front and rear.
Next, I snugged the top down normally, but left the front and rear bolts finger tight.
I then loosened both front windshield mounts(the part on the windshield frame itself.
I then took a ride, and let the top jiggle around until it found its happy place.
Then I tightened the front mounts on the top itself.
Next I tightened the rear mounting bolts.
Then I tightened the rear mounts to the top.
Then I tightened front mounts on the windshield.
Then I finished by tightening the top's front bolts completely.
Now, no more squiggles.
If anyone is interested, I received some scans of the top adjustment procedure included with replacement tops, and I'm assuming the factory service manual has it as well. I got them from a fellow over at corvette action center, he was nice enough to scan and email them to me. Hope this helps you cure your insanity squiggle.
