Looking to fix a hard start problem that started following a dealership replacing 3 injectors. Since that time the dealership has replaced the fuel pump (due to a fault check valve), which didn't correct the hard start. Next replaced the ECM, still didn't fix the hard start problem. Next replaced the fuel pump relay, didn't fix the hard start problem. I brought the car home (1989 Corvette convertible bone stock 40k miles). I have tested fuel rail pressure, 40 with pump running, then dropped to 38 and continued to fall to zero. Followed GM manual testing procedures, first pinching off supply line, same results as above. Next pinched off the return line, same results as above with the exception that during one attempt pressure went to 60 psi and then fell off eventually to zero. In the process of retesting and doing a better job recording data. Any help would be appreciated.
^^^^ What he said!!^^^^ I'd suspect another bad injector(s). Sounds like the dealer is just shooting the parts cannon at your car and not really doing any true diagnostics
to solve your problem. Personally, i would have had them replace ALL the injectors since they were in there anyway. Just like when replacing the timing belt, they
recommend replacing the water pump.. Good luck!

If you pinch off the return line and the pressure goes up to 60 but doesn't fall off rapidly, everything is good up to the regulator. What do you mean "with pump running"? I would turn the key on and see what the pressure spikes to for 2 seconds. Turn key off and see how fast it drops.
I am amazed at the number of times I read on here the dealership either failed to fix the problem or created a new problem. Does anyone have any happy stories to tell about
their experiences with a dealership?

I've had some good experience with dealers and a couple of bad. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference to me. IMO, independent or dealership, they both are have screwed up. I have to watch them till I gain confidence in THE MECHANIC and not the shop.
