How does the odometer on 84-89 Vettes work ?
Hi guys !
Thou this is my first post I already have an interesting question
Does anyone know the way that odometer works ? I Mean there are two wires coming into this small unit so it's being controller electrically - but are there some "impulses" (change of voltage) or it's being pushed forward in another way ?
Maybe it would be possible to make a digital version of it to match the rest of the dashboard ??

The C4 Digital dashboard is a part that Needs to be updated. There are many components that need to be replaced to keep the dash functional for a few more years. You can ship him the dash or you can do the work yourself if you are good at soldering wires on an old PC board. They sell the parts to fix or update your digital dashboard. I rebuilt mine and the C68 A/C controller as well. Some of the electrical components had a 15 year life expectancy and mine were over 32 years old. Now the dash is bright and easily readable and I no longer have to tap on various places to get the dash to work.
Modern cars use digital odometers but converting a C4 to do that might be too much of a challenge. I am sure that BATEE.COM can help you with this idea!
