5 1/4" can fit with a little work. 6 1/2" I had to build custom boxes that fit where the grills are to make them work. The problem is the limited depth in the stock bose boxes. The MB quart QSD or QM in 5 1/4" would work well. I mounted the tweeters in pods on the a pillars.
The 90-93 dash opening is to narrow for most din size radios. I got a spare dash and filed it wider. Then I used a din sized generic pocket from Metra to fill the extra space. I wouldn't put an amp in the dash. You are begging for a fire as they need to vent heat and you can't do that in the dash. What radio and amp are you using?

Then I will probably just put in a 5 1/4 set. I can do a little custom work. I was going to trim the plate like you said, and make my own enclosure for the headunit, and possibly fit 2 gauges mounted below it on an angle upwards. That way they can't see that I have gauges, instead of mounting them on the A pillar, where the whole world could see them, then they will think im stock instead. :reddevil What do you mean by mounting an amp in the dash? Mine is going to be in the back, floating on fiberglass. I might get an eclipse headunit without an ampilifier, but the volts are pretty high on that, 8 volts, I would have to get either an Xtant or JL audio amp, something like that.

[QUOTE]Any good out of site places to put an amp that doesn't take up any storage space?...QUOTE]
I was able to put two amps behind the carpet on the back wall, no one has every noticed it. You just have to be able to take of that curtain in the back so you are able to work on it.
