Can it be done. Somepeople say yes some no? Whats the truth. Someone told me he has longtubes on a 91 with bullet cats and its a auto. Please chime in. :reddevil
Yes, it can be done. I have no CATS on mine. Random Technolgy has some CATs that should fit, there called Metal Matrix Cats Part #70300 they cost about $265 each.

Re: Longtubes on LT1 auto? (ScottsLT1)
I've got TPIS longtubes and the good people at Cartek tried for 2 days to get cats to work on my car but there is no way you can get the cats close enough to the motor to make a difference and not overheat the trans. There just isn't enough room.
You can get bullet cat to work on a 6m car.
There used to be pictures on More Performances' web site with long tubes and an auto. It was a really funky and ugly fit. I have long tubes, Random bullet cats and an LT1 cat back and its tight fit but manageable. Underneath, my car is identical to a 92-96 car would be with longtubes. So I guess the answer is if you run cats, its possible but not practical.
Just some wisdom....always go with long tube's before using the shorty header's......Makes sence ????? dosen't it.....after all you will be doing all that work anyway.....but expect to pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the best...

In a power sense...yes.
BUT: What about the Hooker shorty headers? You keep the cats ( I think ) and you don't have to deal with the heat from long tubes. That and it's an easy bolt on, no exhaust shop work needed.
I'm pretty sure the horsepower difference between long tubes and shorty headers is very little.
