84 cross fire fuel pump
I have a 84 cross fire, got the car with around 90k on it. I bought this car as a daily driver, because during my work season I drive on average 200 miles a day to commute to the job. So what better way to enjoy this 4.5 hours each day of driving than to roll in a vette So I found a car and took the time to rebuild it from the ground up. Did the following, New tires, brake rotor's, pads and calipers, new flex brake lines( stainless), wheel bearings front and rear, all new bushings front and back, ball joints inner out tie rods, rebuilt rack, rebuilt steering collum, hime joint style rear toe link, coil over shocks front and back, all new u joints, resealed diff, rebuilt trans. Engine was in great shape good compression and leak down numbers, and very good cylinder balance as tested on my sun machine 500E So new pugs, wires cap rotor, module and pick up coil, replaced vale stem seals and valve cover gaskets, timing chain gears and harmonic balancer . rebuilt both tbi units new injectors, iac's and tps. coolant temp sencer, o2 sensor ,got rid of the egr and the air pump, the cat must of fell off, bumped timimg to 12degs. So you see I wanted a car that I can depend on by fixed anything I thought could cause me a problem. I have put over 35k on it since very nice dependable ride, love it.
With this all said I have desided to replace the in tank fuel pressure pump just for piece of mind, I have been gleening post to try to find a article I read some time back about putting a later model( higher pressure) fuel pump in the 84, any help or info on this would be helpful before I order my parts, thanks sorry for the long winded post, just wanted to cover what all that has been done, to aid in getting answers
