I have an 87 corvette, long tube headers, x pipe, emissions gone, all the bolt on fun stuff however...
I have a mini ram that’s going in soon looking to do a hot cam and go e85(have bigger injectors installed waiting on my mini ram to go in) I’ve looked for cam kits and the only one I found was this https://www.jegs.com/i/GM+Performanc...AaAq_1EALw_wcB
is this the correct one or can someone point me in the correct direction. I want to buy it all the same time springs rockers all the above. I hate mix and matching parts and rather buy it at the same time
not looking to change the stall and pull motor or heads. Plan on doing in the car.
That would be it. I would wait for the best discount online discount week to buy. Summit lists it for the same price. Myself I would be looking at something more thrifty,
I'm no expert, but I did install the LT4 hot cam in my LT4 and guess what, it was a drop in. With that said, the only issue I see on installation into an earlier head is the installed height of the spring. The LT4 hot cam with 1.6 rockers has a lift at the valve of 0.525 inches and the max lift that the LT4 Hot Cam springs can accommodate is, you guessed it, 0.525 inch, so if the spring installed height is on the tight side, compressing the spring an additional 0.525 inch, might exceed the springs max lift. Did I say that right? Scoggin Dickey Parts Center (SDPC) 1-800-456-0211; www.sdparts.com sells (or used to sell ?) an excellent book by Dr. Whaba "HOT CAM KIT INSTALL Photoinstructions" which tells all, shows all. Good luck.
I seen TPIS have a straight drop in zz9 cam that will work with 1.6s. That’s the cam I want, as for the rest I’m just looking for a complete package to work if anyone knows a site or knows where I can find them?????
