Default TPI mystery project

Hi Guys, I normally hang out in the C3 section, but I feel I can get the answers I need here sooner.
I purchased a 80 basket case, the previous owner passed away before it was finished. The family doesn't know much about it, but said the engine is from an 89 vette freshly rebuilt and bored .030, no other info. Car has the entire underside restored, rebuilt and painted, lots of new parts. 700R4 trans and TPI engine. PO died of a heart attack while the car was in the paint shop, I bought it from the family after sitting for 5 more years. I have the interior to install yet, but am sorting through the wiring to see what was done during the conversion to the tpi motor and what is still needed as well as what was done wrong. I have removed the ecm and determined it is the 1227730 and has a hypertech chip 121326. I've found schematics and wiring info online that tells me it is a 90-92 ecm set up for speed density. Can anyone tell me what the hypertech chip does as well as pro's and con's. I don't know what internal mods the engine has, it has aluminum heads 14101128, roller rockers, roller cam, and looks like aftermarket runners on the intake. Anyone recognize these runners and are they good, bad or what. The ECM is mounted in the engine compartment and was somewhat moisture proofed, although I removed all that to identify it. I have to decide if I will re-do the water proofing and leave it in the engine compartment or extend the wiring and put it inside the car. A few things were hooked up wrong, but the engine would start and run, although not drive-able because of the interior removed. I plan to control the electric fans with the ecm as well as the tcc and fuel pump relay. Here are a few pic's. Can't get hurt for the price I paid for it and should be a nice car when finished.

L98 heads?

Hypertech prom

1227730 ecm?

What runners are these?

The intake runners are SLP . Not bad. The chip has an 88 on it so that is probably what it is from. The heads are stock early L98 aluminum heads. If the chip ia a MAP chip it should be OK in the ecm. You will need a throttle pressure cable for the trans or it will soon die.

TV cable is there and adjusted correctly. I read somewhere, but can' find it again that the 88 on the chip indicates something with the tune, not sure. I also read that it requires a 160 thermostat and turns the fan on at a lower temp, hoping to find out here.

Plug it it in and try to start it. If the cam is stock it should run good, if its a MAP chip.. If its a MAF chip it just will not run right. Hypertech chips are not that different from stock.

To exploit more aggressive ignition timing...hopefully w/o detonation.
