Ok, it appears I am going to get into programming for my car. It is a 1986 with the factory ECM, 1277165. I *think* I want TunerCAT. Is it easiest to use? I downloaded WinBin, but the screenshots from TunerCAT look so much better! Also, if I go with TunerCAT, I think I want two different ECM definition files, one for the 86 specific $32, and also the 89 specific $6E.
Does this make sense? The following are my current mods:
ZZ4
ZF6 6 speed conversion
3.45 Dana 44
SuperRam plenum and base
1.6 roller rockers
AFPR
TPIS headers
Random Tech cat
Borla rear y-pipe
Dynomax ultra-flow mufflers
53mm TB (about to install)
Tunercat is a good program and the support from them is good too. I would recommend it. Getting both the definition files is probably a good idea although I've never looked back since going to the 6E code. I just like the driveability so much more. To be honest though, I haven't messed with MAF tuning for quite some time. The speed-density systems are just so easier for me for some reason. I've yet to convert my car though just been "playing" with everyone elses projects. -Jeff
