I am trying to fix an idle problem and the PCV looked out of wack to me. I think it is ok but it looks strange. The passenger side is plumbed with rigid tubing into the TB. The drivers side has a PCV and is plumbed into the manifold under the TPI with a soft hose. Doesn't that create a vacuum on both sides of the engine? Wouldn't that make the PCV not work. I am used to seeing a vent on one valve cover and the pcv on the other.
I have seen the feed side replaced on supercharged cars...
but, for a normal TPI setup, you want the feed from the TB, as that is "measured" air, as it has passed thru the MAF. Anything that gets into the plenum needs to be measured, even the little amount drawn through the PCV.
Otherwise you will be adding air that is not measured, the ECM will not add fuel for that air, and you will run lean.
I have a breather on the passenger side and plugged the port on the TB that was connected to it. Don't think it is impacting anything. But I just recently fixed other vacuum plumbing issues, so won't be abel to tell until I get some drive time on her..
