Pinion seal leaking? Loose/ backed off pinion nut possibly, pinion maybe be moving rearward on decel.
There is no factory drain plug. Just fill plug. You can use Q tip or similar. to sample fluid for color and odor. At 170k fluid change is likely overdue.
If it's a 2.59 ratio used assemblies are common and inexpensive compared to overhaul. For me it's an excuse to install a 3.3-3.7 ratio gear that wakes the LT1 up.
