Default Coil Wire Question - 85 Corvette TPI

I'm looking to replace the coil on my 85, it's as old as the car with 158K on it. Anyway, I'm seeing pictures for coils for this application with both yellow/black/red wires and white/black/red wires. Does it matter? I would think as long as the primary wires are connected the way they are intended, any one of these coils should work. I'm fairly certain the current coil has the white/black/red combo, I'll verify once the rain stops here.

Any input is appreciated.

I just replaced my coil just because I have 180k now and the damage it can create as it cracks(from my olds 88).
I just took pics and removed cover and used my old hardware. . I removed the connectors, lifted the cover and removed 4 screws. I used the new gasket or rubber insulator and replaced. Works great and can probably take the heat better than the old one.
Good Luck!

Did the replacement coil have the same color wires as the one it replaced?

Use the GM OE REF# of 1985474 to shop for an equivalent. Wires will be red/white. Many years ago this got discussed regularly and actually through all of the GM forums it was/is stll discussed.

Polarity is mentioned most often as being a difference. White and yellow wire distinguishes the direction of windings.
