383 build help guys!
I'm looking to start on a new project. I am wanting to build a stroker. I have did small rebuilds on sbc before but never built one with performance in mind. I was hoping you guys could give me some ideas on cam and head specs..pistons and such. I guess pretty much a build sheet Recommendation. At the moment I have a 350 4 bolt block in my garage. I do not have a budget in mind. I will be dropping it in my c4 as soon as I am done. I do have several machine shops locally to help with any work needed to be done. My prefered goals is to have it as my daily driver yet take it to the strip on the weekends. Pump gas is a must. I'm very much concerned about good quality parts. I do have a nex kit laying around I would be interested in hooking up. 400 to 450 would be quite fun I believe.
I appreciate any and all inside...Recommendations!!

Building an engine before you have acquired the platform is a bit of putting the cart before the horse. There are considerations regarding which year you are building for.
New battery..a/c...it has a solid frame and paint.

93 is not a standard SBC. It is a LT1 engine, a gen 2 SBC. Now if you are going to bypass the computer and just go old school, then a std SBC will work. However, you will have the SES light to deal with being on. I don't know what effect that will have on the body control module, etc. Others will have to chime in,
Like I said,
Time to do some research.

It also makes a difference where he lives as to what pollution controls need to be retained (if any). This was the last year of my 96 needing EPA checking, unlike California.
But you must be the great Carnac the Magnificent and was able to deduce that he bought it and what year it was, and where he lives.

OP should help us, help him.

I don't know how it's possible to go to a carb on a '93....and still have functional ABS/ASR etc. I agree that the BCM will have issues. I guess you could leave the ECM in place...it just wouldn't ever "know" that the engine is running?

Have at it bud. Come back and tell us how it worked out for you. Try and marry a Generation 1 small block in with a Generation 2. Or rip out the LT1 and leave the ECM not connected and let us know how the dash does or doesn't work anymore. Or maybe try and put the OptiSpark on the front the the Gen 1 SBC.
You see it all matters. It matters what year C4. It matters which generation small block chevy engine. So simply saying you want to build a SBC for a C4, well have at it.
You come on here like a multitude of other trolls. A couple months ago you show up and you are going to get a C4, then the next post starts talking about building an engine without even telling folks what you bought and that you even bought without any consideration that a C4 is just not a C4.

Ps: trying to help here
After the OP's tirade in post #11, I'm going to guess that he's gone. It's his loss! There are a lot of talented people here that could offer him some valuable help.

whether you want to admit it or not, that fits the pattern of a troll, just like he who won't be named.
so you tell me and the whole forum how you are going to fill in the gaps and tell him how to build a SBC, I am listening, here is the chance to show your expertise. to show how you can magically deduce through the internet, to automatically answer all the questions and build the most bestest build there is

New to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. From N.C...currently loving in Oregon. Not yet a vette owner but I am looking to buy a c4 here soon. I thought this place would be a great place for tons of information throughout the buying process and ownership. Thanks for having me.
Peace
.
so as I said, you explain how to do it and then I will acknowledge your great guruness......
