The left front speaker on my '94 convertable will not operate until the car has run for half an hour and then it goes on. The other three speakers work. Does this sound like an amp problem?

It could be your Amp but first check your connectors/connections real good. Watch this:
You can rebuild your Amp if you like playing with electronics and there are YouTubes and instructions here and there and probably in this forum somewhere. I will be refurbishing an old Delco Bose Cassette Radio and I have a complete guide on how to do it. It's tedious and mostly it's replacing a lot of capacitors. But the cost of the parts is probably 10-20 bucks at Mouser.com. Mostly just a pile of cheap capacitors.
Check for water in floorboard from a leak - common, other wise amp or speaker. I have had good luck with United Radio in NY, call them and they will send you a free shipping label, return shipping is free, and fast service with good warranty. Dr. Don is the best , but he has priced himself out of the market for me, but a great person. United has done my last two complete systems. No problems and they check all parts of amp and they check speaker.
Hemmings motor news has quite a few radio refurbishment services. I'm not sure how they're priced. I remember also seeing such services on eBay. For around $125-135. You can even get an Auxiliary input added to your original Delco/Bose radio for an Mp3 device, like an Ipod, or whatever.
I just installed the amp that "Bose Central" of Orange City, FL repaired and it works just fine. They charged $45, I paid $8 shipping each way and the turn-around time was satisfactory. As long as it continues to work, I am very satisfied with this service.
Last week I replaced my left side front and rear amps with rebuilt ones from corvetteradios.com . When i pulled the rear amp it was obvious from the burning on the board what happened to that one. The speakers at front and rear looked in great condition so it made sense to replace just the amps. Sounded great now and i just hope the right side amps remain good.

Sounds like a great deal, no pun intended. Thanks for the reference. I believe my front passenger side may be toast, but I have to troubleshoot some before I give it last rights. $45 + $8 Is very reasonable. Beats spending hours with a soldering tool and a handful of capacitors and such.
Thanks for the reference. How much did it cost you?
$120 per amp which includes a $60 core charge. I just mailed the cores back to them this morning. On Amazon and E-Bay I was finding used amps, but didn't want to take a chance with them.
Btw, that was with free shipping and I had to pay to ship cores back.

I just had all my Bose Gold Speakers refurbished by Doctor Don about a month ago on my Ruby. He is in Texas and the turn-around was great. I believe he will also work on the radio components
