Headlight gear pellets
Looking for little jobs to do to pass the time while staying home. I have a 96. I see all these posts with the pellets turning to dust and I thought I would just replace them. Bought an Ebay kit with new gears, pellets, gaskets and lube. Took both side apart. The 24 year old pellets looked like the day they were made. The gears were a little worn. I did go ahead and install the new but it was not needed and a total waste of time. Oh well, Dan

That's just bizarre. My 96 had only 46k miles when I bought it and it was garaged every day of its life, and the pellets in it were already shot. You're sure yours haven't been replaced in the past?

I understand you are looking for something to do. This is what I would have told you before you took them apart: honestly I would only mess with the headlight gears if they are not working properly or if they are making scary noises. At least that is the plan with my 1995 coupe.

I understand you are looking for something to do. This is what I would have told you before you took them apart: honestly I would only mess with the headlight gears if they are not working properly or if they are making scary noises. At least that is the plan with my 1995 coupe.
