Mine is currently up on a 5000. The 3500 will handle it but the 5000 will allow you to work on other cars too that might be a bit heavier, so I bought the 5000 for the flexibility of use on different vehicles. I thought about the 7000 so I could do my truck too, but it rides high enough that if I pull it up on ramps I have plenty of room underneath. I bought mine from Home Depot, they have good prices on it from time to time.

Also Costco puts the 5000 on sale occasionally for $999 including shipping. That is where I bought mine and could not be happier. It ships directly from the factory for that price.
