I know the Code 33 can be baffling, so maybe this can help someone with the same problem.
My '88 has been throwing a Code 33 when I put a load on it. When it's in neutral its OK.
When it happens, I feel a miss in the engine, then the SES light goes on, then it limps along with no power. The MAF connector was the problem. So I changed the sensor, the MAF and the relays. Now its all good
